Birds, Bees and Butterflies

“Hey Yuki…”

Aki’s voice was soft, shy as ever and barely audible over Yuki’s music. They where both sitting on opposite ends of the couch, both reading. Yuki had this awesome manga on a bunch of guys on their way west to save the world from a crazy demon who wanted to kill all humans. Aki, to Yuki’s intense dislike, was reading Harry Potter. Or had been, because now the only thing he seemed to use the book for was to hide himself behind.

Yuki pushed the pause button on his MP3 player and looked up at the boy. You really wouldn’t say they where of the same age... Aki really acted like he was at least a few years younger... With those big blue eyes of him and that overly innocent face that made him want to.... Ok not going there, definitely not going there.

“What?”

“Euhmn...” Aki pulled his knees up to his chest, hugging himself with long pale arms, scars just a little too noticeable for Yuki’s comfort. Those big eyes where wondering over the ceiling, over the furniture and just about anything in the room except for Yuki.

“What is it Aki?”

He knew his voice was a little harsh, annoyed, but his manga had been very good and he wanted to go back to it.

“Euhmn...”

Aki still didn’t look Yuki in the face, eyes darting around as if looking for something to help him. The guy really should give himself a break. How long had they been living here together now? He should know by now that Yuki didn’t bite... Not hard anyway.

When Yuki glared at him, Aki only hugged his knees tighter however, still hiding behind his book.

“Aki, say what you want to say now, or I’m going back to my book.”

Still nothing, no acknowledgment of being heard even, apart from Aki blushing. But what else was new, the boy always seemed to be blushing when around him. It was getting on his nerves.

Yuki started going back to his book and putting his music back on, when Aki suddenly decided to speak.

“Haveyoueverkissedsomeone?”

"What...?” Yuki cocked an eyebrow. “Say that again and now slower, I didn’t understand a word of what you where saying.”

It only proved to make Aki’s blush all the more intense. He was still not meeting Yuki’s eyes, and it was annoying the hell out of him.

“Well...?”

“I- Euhmn- Have you- I mean- Have you ever- euhmn- Have you ever...” The shade of Aki’s face would’ve made a tomato proud by now. “Have you ever... Kissed someone?”

Yuki looked at the boy in wonder for a moment. “Of course I have... I mean, come on, I’m 17 for gods sake! Sure I’ve kissed some girls. Had some girlfriends even. Though I ditched them fairly soon... Stupid girls. Surely you’ve had some too, right?”

“...”

“Right...?”

“...”

“RIGHT?”

“Euhmn...”

He shouldn’t be so surprised, with how shy and... Well weird the Aki was, but fuck... He was pretty good looking in his own way, even Yuki could see that, and surely some girls had seen that, too... Right?

“So you’re telling me you never actually kissed anyone?”

“Euhmn...” A short nod was all he got for an answer, together with another blush. Aki was still not meeting his eyes. Too embarrassed to do so, probably... Poor guy, if he never kissed anyone, he’d never gotten laid either... Poor poor guy...

“So... Euhmn... What- What does it feel like? Kissing someone, I mean... I know you- You sort of kissed me but... Well I don’t remember much, being unconscious and all and... Euhmn... Yeah...”

Aki stared at the ceiling intently, so much so that Yuki checked if there wasn’t really something up there. Of course there was nothing, so he looked back at Aki.

“You know, the ceiling might come to life and tell you if you stare at it long enough, but to be honest I doubt it will any time soon.” Blushing fiercely, Aki gazed away, focusing on Yuki now, but still not quite meeting his eyes.

Yuki sighed. It’d have to do. Aki was slowly driving him crazy with his constant avoiding of eye-contact, he liked to look people in the eyes when he talked to them, damn it!

“So, what- what does it feel like?”

Yuki almost laughed at both the insecurity in Aki’s voice and just how ridiculous the question was. Than he shrugged.

“It’s kind of... Wet, I guess... Good though, most of the time, when people kiss they don’t talk you see, so it’s a good way to shut people up and-” And he should really not be thinking about using that method on Aki... Although it would definitely shut him up. No doubt there... But he was not gay.

“And, yeah well that’s it I guess. Wet, and kind of good and hot.” Aki just sat there, his eyes now on somewhere just below Yuki’s face. He’d never kissed anyone before he died... So that meant he’d given Aki his first kiss. And the boy didn’t even remember. Man... That really was kind of sad. Maybe he should... No, no way in hell. He was not kissing Aki again. One time had been gross enough!

“You should ask Rin to show you, I bet she won’t mind...”

Aki nodded, and looked down again. Yuki shrugged and popped his music back on, going back to his manga. Conversation over.

He could still feel Aki’s eyes on him, but to Yuki’s relieve the boy kept silent. He had trouble enough concentrating on his manga as it was... And that was not because his thoughts kept straying to kissing a certain someone... Because he was most definitely NOT gay. ~*~
